Painswick – The queen of the Cotswolds
The Cotswolds is an area of outstanding beauty, the perfect place for a staycation. The Courthouse Manor has views of the Gloucestershire hills which are breathtaking. The manor is surrounded by quaint shops & homely restaurants.
The Courthouse Manor
Nestled in the Cotswolds hills is the historic town of Painswick. From the moment you arrive you instantly feel as though you have stepped on a movie set with the quaint and narrow streets. It’s such a romantic setting. The Courthouse Manor, hidden away next to St Mary’s Church is a stunning grade 1 listed building. The gravel courtyard, the picturesque gardens, and the luxury interior are perfect to stroll hand in hand together.
The Court House Manor offers bed and breakfast & differently styled luxury bedrooms. We had the pleasure of staying in Othello. Othello has a private stairway taking you to the top of the courthouse. The views are breathtaking.
The bed looked very comfy so there was only one thing for it… We dived straight on the bed, like two big kids.
During our weekend we dined in the local cosy restaurant ‘the falcon Inn‘ which I would highly recommend. The food is hearty, good sized portions & so tasty.
We visited St Mary’s Church door and strolled through the narrow streets. We were only there for 1 night but if you are considering staying longer you must visit:
- Cheltenham Races (post-pandemic)
- Bicester Village designer outlet
- Cirencester quaint town
- Gloucester Cathedral
The area is truly romantic.
I hope you found this article useful. I can’t wait to visit the area again soon.
